Complete MEP design and support on this new development. -
Design Foundry delivered full mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) design for the refurbishment of a redundant restaurant unit at Sutton Harbour, repurposed as a marina-facing office and welfare facility for berth holders. The project required sensitive integration of modern building services within an existing structure, including upgraded ventilation, low-energy lighting, and efficient heating systems. Particular focus was given to system zoning, occupant comfort, and ease of ongoing maintenance within a constrained building envelope.

Transforming a former restaurant into a modern marina office and berth holders’ lounge came with a distinct set of challenges - including a constrained budget, limited space and the need to work around existing service routes. Our solution centred on delivering practical, energy-efficient MEP upgrades that are easy to operate and maintain, without compromising on performance or reliability.
Careful coordination with legacy systems and structural limitations - particularly around ventilation and drainage - was essential to the project’s success. The result is a functional, low-energy space that enhances the daily experience for Sutton Harbour’s berth holders, delivered with minimal disruption to marina operations.
